Vijayawada–Singapore Direct Flight Service to Begin from November 15
IndiGo will launch direct flights between Vijayawada and Singapore from November 15, operating thrice weekly. The new route aims to boost business, tourism, and education ties between Andhra Pradesh and Southeast Asia.
Vijayawada International Airport to get direct connectivity to Singapore from November 15, with IndiGo operating thrice-weekly flights.

Vijayawada will be connected to the international flight network further once the direct flight service to Singapore commences from November 15, 2025. IndiGo Airlines will operate the service thrice weekly, with departures on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday from Vijayawada International Airport to Changi Airport Singapore.
Union Civil Aviation Minister Kinjarapu Rammohan Naidu made the official announcement of the route and stated that the route was considered as the demand for direct international connectivity from the capital region of Andhra Pradesh has been on the rise.
"The new Vijayawada–Singapore route shall enhance the prospects of business, education, and tourism between Andhra Pradesh and Southeast Asia," he further commented.
A Milestone in Andhra Pradesh’s Aviation Growth
Officials said that the proposed route was first discussed during the Chief Minister's tour of Singapore in July 2025 when members of the Andhra diaspora sought greater connectivity. Accordingly, the Civil Aviation Ministry and IndiGo worked out the operational plan and schedule within 100 days.
This route would be a boon for students, businessmen, and exporters of the Vijayawada–Guntur–Amaravati belt, many of whom travel frequently to Singapore for academic and commercial engagements.
Trade and Tourism Coming Alive
Being one stop away from Singapore, the service stands to boost trade tourism and cultural exchanges. With greater ease of looking around the upcoming capital region of Andhra Pradesh, Singapore travelers can add one more layer of tourist potential to the state.
Flight timings have also been coordinated by IndiGo to merge with Changi Airport's global network for onward smooth connectivity towards destinations in East Asia and Australia.
Strengthening the Aviation Hub Status of Vijayawada
After Sharjah, this being the second international route from Vijayawada, the new route gives further impetus to the emerging status of the airport as a vital aviation hub for south coastal Andhra Pradesh.
